High Stakes Poker Season 3 Episode 7
By Glenn Cole | February 27, 2007
When you didn’t think Farha couldn’t play any looser, he proofs the opposite in this week’s episode, taking some large hits to his stack.

No one has left their seat, so the lineup for this week’s episode is still the same as the week before.
Seat 1: Brian Townsend
Seat 2: Sam Farha
Seat 3: Todd Brunson
Seat 4: Paul Wasicka
Seat 5: Barry Greenstein
Seat 6: Eli Elezra
Seat 7: Jennifer Harman
Seat 8: Erick Lindgren
It starts with a battle between the two loosest ones at the table, Eli Elezra and Sam Farha. But this time Elezra picks up a strong hand, pocket queens. As you know Farha doesn’t like to fold when he is big blind and calls with rags, (K4 off suit). And the flop is QTT, a real monster for Elezra as he flops the full house. Elezra got position on Farha in this hand, but he will check it on the flop as well as on the turn, which are a six. The river is another six, and the table shows QTT66. The pot is at this time slightly over $12.000 and again Farha checks but this time Elezra can’t check and bets out $20.000. And now for one of the weirdest play in High Stakes poker this season; Farha calls with King high. Well, it would be one of the best calls in history if Elezra had pocket fives or similar, but this play look like Farha has too much money for his own good.
I know its hard do check this monster, but in my opinion I think it was the right move. I don’t think Farha could have called, and with the over sized bet on the end, it look like Elezra is making a move and Farha went for it. This is just because Elezra is known for making such move as this with nothing. This ended up in a pot almost worth $53.000 and has to be seen as a successful play.
For the next hand all players but Greenstein limps in, so it’s seven way action. And everybody miss the flop almost completely. But the turn gives Harman a little something and makes a bet and everyone folds.
Later on Farha picks up AT off suit and raises under the gun to $10.000, too bad Paul Wasicka picks up American Airlines, AA and re raises to $20.000 and gets an instant call by Farha. The flop is Q86 rainbow, a perfect flop for Wasicka with his AA and moves all in and Farha quickly folds. I agree with what Gabe Kaplan says in this hand, “I would check that too see if Farha would make a play at it”.
Next hand is quite similar to the written above, just that it’s much smaller. But Harman raises with JJ and Farha calls with 75 of spades. The flop is QQ2 and again I agree with Kaplan, let Farha take the lead in the hand, but Harman won’t let him. She bets out and Farha quickly folds again.
Everyone at the table is punching at Farha, and yet again Farha is in the pot as a real underdog against Elezra. Elezra has AA and Farha has KQ. The flop is AAJ and yet again Elezra bets out, but he is getting re raised by Farha with his remaining chips. In this situation I think its ok by Elezra to bet, just because his reputation. Wasicka and Harman have a solid and a conservative playing style and Elezra is loose and aggressive, that’s why it’s easier for Elezra to get action when flopping monster hands. This won’t stop Farha, he re-buys and gets into the big action immediately again, and win a nice pot against Erick Lindgren.
But Wasicka punish Farha in a pot some minutes later in the show, playing it perfect against Farha. He doesn’t have a strong hand, but he is sure that Farha bluffs both on the flop and on the river and makes a large win when he moves all in on the turn after Farha has bluffed on every street. This lead to a bit of momentum for Paul Wasicka as he wins of a large pot seconds later against the internet poker pro, Brian Townsend.
Greenstein was promised $10.000 from a kid on internet if he did a certain thing in the show, watch it and you will find out what.
